Quatre titres intenses et lumineux soulignant le talent singulier du groupe emmené par Vincent Bestaven. Cuivres aériens, guitares stellaires et voix venues d’ailleurs confèrent à The Wild Cruises une couleur rare et surréaliste soutenue par la mise en ambiance magnifique de Cyrille Gachet (Year of No Light) et le mastering tout en nuance d’Alan Douches (Kurt Vile, Beach House, Akron Family…). Avec ce EP, Botibol déploie son univers onirique et solaire, pendant européen d’artistes comme Chad Vangaalen ou Sandro Perri. On pense également au Gainsbourg de Couleur Café (sur « Let’s go riding »), à la musique brésilienne (sur « The Islands) et à une pop aventureuse nourrie à l’oeuvre de Werner Herzog. Plus consistant, plus psyché et tout simplement plus ensoleillé, The Wild Cruises s'avère un trait d’union nerveux et distingué avec un nouvel album prévu en 2013 pour lequel Botibol se muera sur scène en une entité de 4 musiciens (guitare, basse, batterie, cuivres et synthétiseurs).

The Wild Cruises follows Born From A Shore, the critically acclaimed debut from Botibol. The record, arranged from four intense and luminous tracks, underlines the singular talent of the band, led in earnest by Vincent Bestaven. Flying rhythms, stellar guitars and other-worldly voices give The Wild Cruises a rare and unreal tone, underscored by the magnificent ambience developed by Cyrille Gachat (Year Of No Light) and the detailed mastering work of Alan Douches (Kurt Vile, Beach House, Akron Family...). With this new EP, Botibol expand their own dreamy universe showing it to be a distinctly European response to artists such as Chad Vangaalen or Sandro Perri, with touches reminding us of Couleur Café era Gainsbourg (on “Let's Go Riding”), of Brazilian music (on “The Islands”) and of the adventurous soundtracks of the likes of Werner Herzog. More consistent, more psychedelic, and simply sunnier, The Wild Cruises sets a distinguished precedent in anticipation of the forthcoming Botibol album, to be released in early 2013.
