It's been far too long coming but Rumble In Rhodos is back at last. After Own Me Like The City (2006) and Intentions (2008), Signs Of Fervent Devotion immediately assures us that it's been worth the wait. Produced by the excellent Erlend Mokkelbost and Anders Tjore (Jr Ewing, Montée, Turns, Apricot) and mixed by Mr. Nick Terry himself (Klaxons, Serena Maneesh, Libertines, Franz Ferdinand), this new opus from the five Norwegians demonstrates once again their huge talent. Leaving aside their most brutal influences to make space for feverish post-punk, full of 80s inflection and sophisticated, dark explosions, Signs Of Fervent Devotion is nine tracks of complex musical architecture that should please fans of classy Scandinavian productions.
