Un album essentiel, un album coup de coeur: première production des cinq anglais de Minnaars et toute première sortie du label HipHipHip ! Si Minnaars n'est malheureusement plus actif, cet album, produit d'une main de maître par Tom Woodhead (Forward Russia), n'en reste pas moins terriblement catchy et dansant. Rappelant parfois les mélodies de leurs compatriotes de Foals, Bloc party ou Robocop Krauss, le groupe de Leicester évolue dans un registre disco-math-rock qui repousse les limites du genre. Mélodies imparables et énergie débordante, en seulement huit titres, Minnaars frappe d'emblée très fort !

An album that's a firm favourite of ours: the very first long player from English band Minnaars was the initial release from HipHipHip ! Although the five Englishmen are sadly no longer active, this album, mastered by Tom Woodhead (Forward Russia) remains ludicrously danceable and catchy. Reminding us here and there of their fellow compatriots Foals, Bloc Party and Robocop Krauss, the Leicester band delivered a disco-math-rock combination that pushed the boundaries of each genre. Minnaars only needed eight tracks, laden with hyper-efficient melodies and unbridled energy, to make an immediate impact.
